Functional Changes in the Gut Microbiome during Pregnancy
Why Participate?
Investigating the change in the composition of microorganisms in the gut during the entire course of pregnancy will help the scientific community understand the drivers of pregnancy complications and potentially open the way to new therapies.
What Is The Purpose Of The Study?
To collect health data and stool samples from pregnant women along their course of pregnancy to better understand the link between the composition of microorganisms in the gut and pregnancy health.
Who Can Participate?
- Pregnant women at less than 13 weeks of gestation
- Aged between 21 to 40 years old
What Is The Process Like?
- Evaluate eligibility to join the study
- Obtain informed consent
- Collect health information through a self-reported questionnaire
- Provide stool samples followed by routine laboratory tests
- Complete follow-up questionnaire
Is There Any Compensation Or Reimbursement?
Participants will be reimbursed for their time and contribution.
What Is The Time And Commitment Required?
- 1 stool sample collection
- 2 questionnaires
- Recruitment phase: December 2021 onwards
- Study phase: from December 2021 till completion
